Oberstdorf 2024 – Schrecksee via Vilsalpsee Tannheimer Tal
Another spectacular hike in the Oberstdorf area up to the Schrecksee. You can approach it via Germany or Austria. We decided to go via Austria, starting from the Vilsalpsee near Tannheimer Tal. The hike we did was not just hiking to the Schrecksee, but continue to the peak of the Kastenkopf, which is another 300m elevation gain. In total we hiked about 23km return with a total elevation gain of 1300m. We started very early in the morning to conquer the heat this day. For the first part to the Schrecksee, there is no shade.
