Oberstdorf 2024 – Rappensee via Birgsau

Oberstdorf, Bavaria. Next hike up to the Rappensee from Birgsau. The hike is about 26km return with an elevation gain of 1200m. Rappensee is Germanys highest lake at 2047m elevation. Along the way there are several options (huts) to have a nice cold Radler or Cola-Mix. The hike towards the lake feels endless. During the ascend you will sweat a lot. The lake is rewarding and worth the effort, as well as the scenery.

The sunset from up there was one of the best we had in the mountains. Judge for yourself.
