Mauritius – Hiking Le Morne

Mauritius. Very different from Reunion. We had promising weather and decided to hike up to Le Morne in the South West. The mountain is about 556m high, but you can just get to a cross which is at around 400m.

The hike has amazing views along the way. The second part of the hike is veeery steep. You have to literally climb. I would not recommend doing this hike with forecast of rain as it can get very slippery.

It took us around 3h to get up and down. Distance is about 6km return.

While sitting on top we spottet Kiters in the u shaped bay. We stopped by and were excited for the next few days as the wind forecast looked very promising. This was unexpected! Yes!
