La Reunion – Maido at sunrise

Promising mountain weather forecast for the morning at Belvedere du Maido (west of the island). The drive to here is curvy, like all other drives and takes around 2h.

The car park is at 2200m elevation. We arrived just before sunrise.

It was amazing to watch the changing from sunrise to daylight. The valley changed quite dramatically regarding colours and mood. From the ridge to the valley is about 1000m elevation.

Fantastic to see paragliders gaining height by the warm air from the crater ridge.

At around noon clouds arrived (almost as always) covering the view. In the afternoon we went to the black beach again to enjoy the sun at the coast.
