La Reunion – Cascade Grand Galet and L Etang Sale

On November 29th we flew from Johannesburg to Mauritius to spend a night around the airport to finally fly on November 30th to La Reunion. Why we did it this way? Theres no other way to get from Johannesburg to Reunion.
We selected an accommodation on the Westcoast of Reunion. The reason for the west is quite simple: less rain. Generally rain and arrive from the east and float around the highest peaks of Reunion.
During our stay we often had clear mornings with arriving clouds at noon. If you want to explore the amazing craters and valleys be sure to start early!
On our first full day we drove to the south into the valley to Cascade Grand Galet. On the way you drive along a river with lush vegetation. We spent a couple of hours at the river just to relax there.
After the waterfalls we spent the sunset at LEtang Sale, the black sand beach.
Great first day at Reunion, just a first glimpse about whats to come next 🙂
