Scotland 2024 – #11 Isle of Skye – Old Man of Stor – Talisker – Sligachan – Fairy Pools
Old Man of Stor is one of the popular spots on the Isle of Skye. If you decide to go, go very early. At around 10AM MASSES are walking in. This is an easy hike so LOTS of people will do it. This hike can be done as a loop, and if you want you can continue onto a ridge looking down the nice landscape with the needles. Plus: most people wont do it because its another 250m of elevation gain (on top of the 450).
We continued our journey via Sligachan (very nice setting) to the Talisker distillery and to another (in my eyes highly overrated and waaay too overpopulated) hike to the Fairy Pools.
If nature has parking lots you have to pay for you know there are lots of people to be expected…
We did this walk late afternoon and it was still packed.
For sunset we drove to the so called Coral Beach at the tip of Loch Dunvegan.
This day was the first we met the famous Midges. Not much but enough to annoy you 😉
